National Politics

Crofton is part of the Normanton and Hemsworth Parliamentary Constituency. Jon Trickett has served as the Labour Member of Parliament (MP) since winning a by-election in 1996. Following boundary changes at the 2024 General Election, the constituency was renamed Normanton and Hemsworth.

Wakefield Council

Crofton falls within the Wakefield Council area and is represented by three councillors: Usman Ali, Maureen Cummings, and Faith Heptinstall.

Parish Council

The village is also served by the Crofton Parish Council, which supports and promotes community activities within the local area.
