MINUTES OF THE MEETING FOR

CROFTON CHILDREN’S PLAY AREA ASSOCIATION

ON MONDAY 28^TH APRIL 2003

Attendees: Sharon Gallagher, Paula Baker, Robert Baker, Duncan Thompson,

Julian Ellis, Helen Tate & Paul Bennett.

Apologies: Christine Sinclair, Arthur Ripley, David Wright, Joan Helme, Andrea

Martin & Bev Schofield

1. Duncan Thompson was elected as chairperson for the AGM.

2. Chairperson’s report was given by Sharon. Copies are to be made available for interested parties.

3. Treasurer’s report was given by Paula, showing that we have regular amounts of money being raised within the village, giving us a balance of £1269.90. Expenditure was only 11% of income & mainly stationary & fundraising costs.

4. Nominations for elections and posts.

The positions were filled as follows:

· Chairperson – Robert Baker

· Vice Chair – Duncan Thompson

· Treasurer – Paula Baker

· Secretary – Helen Tate

5. Date of the next meeting:

The next meeting will be held on Monday 19^th May 2003, in Shay Lane

Primary School at 7.00pm.

6. A.O.B.

Crofton Gala was discussed and the following points agreed.

· We will walk in the procession, wearing hats made from reclaimed materials in the shape of playground equipment. It was agreed this would make us noticeable in a fun way!! Designs to be brought to the next meeting to prevent overlapping!

· The procession will leave the High School lay-by opposite Crofton Infants’ School at 12noon.

· We are to go with the games theme at the gala, including pick a lolly, play your cards right & splat the rat (with plastic bats?).

· Paul Bennett offered to supply lollies.

· Help will be needed on the day to run the stall, including someone to sit & guard it during the procession. It was decided to work out a rota of volunteers. It was noted that Helen & Christine regrettably have other responsibilities so will not be available.
