a report.
The following points
were raised and disc~.
• Update on the two Post Office robberies
• Children playing football by houses near Cc bus stop on
Spring Lane, Crofton.
• Ongoing issues relating to 'Off road' bikers
• Car parking on
• Illegally parked car on the pavement outside
06/115 WARD
COUNCILLORS REPORT WMDC Cllr Cummings - See report The
following points were raised and discussed.
• Cllr Wrigg
‑ the standard of grass cutting being carried out by WMDC was poor in the
following areas ‑Shay Law Housing and W~ View areas. Cllr Bennett also
stated
that the same was true on Springhill Dr.
• Cllr Jacques asked if WMDC could
arrange a Iitter pick for
the village, to coincide with the closure of the Village schools for the summer
break.
061116 PUBLIC SESSION
Resident Rose Salt raised the following issues
• It was confirmed for Mrs salt
that the Henry Daley memorial had been maintained

Village groups would continue to use the Pavilion as the work on the Community
Centre was still ongoing

Gave details and asked for support for the Crofton Carnival due to be held on
Saturday 25th June. This was agreed and noted.

OF THE MEETING HELD 17 May 2005

061119 MATTERS ARISING FOR INFORMATION ONLY
There were no matters
arising.
'41120 COMMUNITY FACILITIES ‑ PARISH CENTRE
The following points
were raised and discussed.
* Window film had now been applied as agreed
* Electrical Work was still outstanding, although this was
being progressed
* Cllr Duffy said a quotation would be obtained and presented to Council for approval for a new Village notice
board
061121 ALLOTMENTS
The following points
were raised and discussed.
• A skip had
been provided by the Council and had been very well received and used by the
allotment holders. It was agreed to provide another skip Iater
this summer.

treated some rodent/rat infestation on the
• It was
reported that a local farmer was drawing water from the allotment standpipe.
This was discussed and it was agreed ~ the water service was for exclusive use
of allotment holders and no other persons
• It was
agreed that the Acting Clerk would write to Mrs Brown and ask for her
intentions regarding continued use of the allotments she occupied. It was felt
that some of the allotments in question may have been a factor in the recent
rat infestation problem
• It was
agreed that at the discretion of Cllr Hewitt allotments could be allocated to
new tenants free of rent for the first 12 months.
061122 CEMETERY
The following points
were raised and discussed.
Our
grass cutting contractors were not the service we had originally contracted for.
The acting Clerk agreed to arrange a site visit to enable these issues to be
resolved.
The
footpath between Ashdene Estate and the Church was in
need of a clearing. WMDC would be asked to deal with this, matter

would also be asked to cut the grass in the old village cemetery. The acting Clerk was still processing the
request for a fencing quotation.
061123 SPECIAL SERVICES
It
was reported Cat the Council had placed an order with WMDC for our Christmas
2005 Illuminations, the cost to be confirmed.
061124 ROAD TRAFFIC ISSUES
The following points
were raised and discussed.
• WMDC be asked to investigate the provision of a pedestrian island
on
• WMDC be asked to remove overhanging vegetation form the pavements
at No 1 Ashdene Crescent & 11 Wentworth Drive and
on the pavement outside the Infant School.

Members discussed

was agreed to formally object to application number 05/99/29116/H on the grounds of ‑Effect on current street
scene', 'the effect on a terrace of old houses on our High Street.. The Acting
Clerk was asked to provide Planning Application details in the post when issuing
Minutes and Agendas. This was agreed

It was agreed that
the Clerk be asked as a matter of great urgency make plans to move the Council's
current bank account(s) to the Unity Banking Group. Our current bankers were
currently unable to meet with our requirement to have more than 'three! signatories on our accounts.
061128 APPLICATION FOR VILLAGE SCOUT GROUP
This item was deferred until July 2005 meeting
061129 CORRESPONDENCE
The Clerk read out the correspondence, which was noted.
O6130 PARISH MATTERS
• The acting Clerk was asked to write
to WMDC and ask for their policy on 'Affordable Housing within the District'
• The acting Clerk was asked to write
to WMDC and ask for clarificationj on boundary walls
that had been built by the homes at the bottom of Church Hill opposite the
entrance to Ashdene Approach
• Cllr Hewitt asked that consideration
by WMDC be given to seating and waste bins being provided on the new skate park
• The Pavement had not been instated
by the new bungalow which had been built at the junction of
